Vintage Wedding Fairs with a modern twist

Vintage Chic Wedding Fair Spring 2012 {part one}

Our 6th wedding fair took place yesterday in Birmingham at The Centennial Centre and we are so pleased that months of planning  and preparing has paid off. Big, huge, massive thanks to all who took part and to all who came!!!! A wedding fair is not complete without exhibitors or guests.

After the success of our October fair, ideas to make our next one bigger, better and more interactive just kept flowing! Keeping in mind our vision of ‘vintage with a modern twist’ we put these ideas in motion to bring Brides  and Grooms some interactive inspiration in addition to the usual high calibre of exhibitors.

The standard of exhibitors was by far our best yet and they went down a storm with the hundreds of guests who came to see them. Some of them have exhibited with us a number of times and some are new to Vintage Chic however they were all outstanding.

For Brides and Grooms planning their big vintage wedding day, our exhibitors included all the ingredients needed to put together a wedding day to remember ~ with a cherry on top!

For those who couldn’t make it here’s a quick low down of the day.

One very cold April Sunday….

It began very early in the morning with us jumping in the car to the venue which was full to bursting with props and goody bags. Really not sure how we managed to get in the car lol!! Not long after we arrived our exhibitors began to transform the venue in to a vintage chic palace! Swoooon ♥

The Centennial Centre is a big venue with alot of space to fill so it was interesting to see it transformed so quickly. Within a blink of an eye our first guests arrived and it wasn’t long before there was a huge queue of people waiting to see the amazing exhibitors inside.

Our second post will be about these amazing exhibitors with a few pics to give you a flavour of their beautiful vintage inspired work.

Back to our interactive ideas….. To bring our wedding fair to life, we instructed some exhibitors to create some demos. We had Le Keux Events and Sarah Russell doing hair and make up, Fusion Flowers with some great DIY floral art ideas, Fishee Designs with her cute photo booth, My Craftea Day with popular crafty ideas plus My Dance Birmingham showing people how the Lindy Hop, Jive and Burlesque is done (!!) For the Grooms there was advice from I Am Staggered on speech writing, honeymoon planning and how to look uber stylish! Our signature entertainer Simon Partridge sang a beautiful set for us all afternoon (he gave us a signed copy of his new CD Falling In Love Again- yay!!)

We were also pleased to present our Brides with lovely goody bags full of lovely treats ( special thanks to Chris Barber Photography, Studio Seed,  Cotton and Roses, Simply Chic and Sarah Russell!)

We’ve been overwhelmed with the positive feedback from both exhibitors and guests alike which is very much appreciated. One of our Brides posted on Facebook “it was one of the best wedding fairs I’ve been to! Well organised,lovely exhibitors who weren’t pushy and thoroughly enjoyed looking at the gorgeous vintage inspired stands :))”

We are extremely proud to be an independent and growing vintage inspired wedding fair and we’ve come a long way from our first fair in our home town in 2010. We never rely on support from the wedding industry glitterati  and enjoy providing our exhibitors with on going support via our blog and website.

After a brief breather, we will get planning our Autumn fair which we are very much looking forward to! Details coming soonxxx
